Huisdierenoppas Erica uit Amsterdam
My name is Erica and I've lived with cats for so long I'm told I now act like one. I have lived and worked in Amsterdam since 2016, and happy to call it home. I grew up in Lebanon in an animal-loving household, with cats (we now have 5, but there were 18 at one point), three dogs, a turtle, and birds.
I have watched mother cats give birth, bottle-fed abandoned kittens, given medicine to older cats, and granted endless cuddles to them all. As for dogs, I have walked them, played with them, medicated them, and helped birth puppies. I am also comfortable with feeding birds and turtles, and open to learning how to care for rabbits or hamsters. I am currently studying a PhD at the UvA, and since I still would like to travel and explore my options once I finish, I cannot have a pet. So why not care for someone else's?
I offer home visits, homeboarding, dog walking, and house sitting. Comfortable with rescues. All pets will be cared for according to their usual routines and specific needs.
Please note that I can only accommodate 2 cats or 1 small-to-medium size dog at a time in my own home, due to size limitations. If you have more pets or a bigger dog, I'd be happy to discuss options for their comfort, whether that is through home visits, housesitting, or daily sitting.
Neighborhoods: Nieuw West, West, Oud Zuid, Osdorp. I'm also open to visits in Zuid, Bos en Lommer, Staatsliedenbuurt/Westerpark area, Centrum, and De Pijp, and to housesitting in other areas of Amsterdam and its suburbs (Amstelveen, Badhoevedorp, etc).
Occupation: PhD student at the UvA, coordinator at Sandberg Instituut
